Useful Tips for your Dental Emergency
In any dental emergency, first, call a dentist you trust. Dr. Streit and his team members will attentively listen to your situation and provide you with personalized guidance. We will set up an appointment that allows us to see you as soon as possible.
Toothache: You can take an over-the-counter pain reliever for the time being. You can also apply an ice pack for 10-20 minutes every hour. Dr. Streit will help you determine the reason for your tooth pain and if your tooth is trying to tell you something.
Bitten tongue or lip: Apply ice and pressure to the area to decrease swelling and bleeding. If the laceration is fairly deep or you are experiencing pain, contact us.
Broken or chipped tooth: Schedule an appointment with us so that we can protect the exposed tooth. Place the pieces of tooth in a cup of milk, and come see us as soon as possible.
Tooth knocked out: Try to place the tooth into its socket and call Distinctive Dentistry right away. If you cannot keep it in the socket, put it in a cup of milk or water with salt. It may be possible to save the avulsed tooth.
Object caught between teeth: Do you have food or an object lodged between two teeth? Use floss and rinse to gently remove the debris. If this does not work, contact our office and we would be happy to assist you.
